American Italian Food Coalition Praises First Ministerial Meeting of Boeing-Airbus Working Group

Group Applauds U.S., EU For Continued Commitment to Resolving Dispute

WASHINGTON, D.C. (December 15, 2022) – Today, the American Italian Food Coalition (AIFC) issued the following statement to commend the first Ministerial Meeting of the Large Civil Aircraft Working Group held earlier this month:

“The first Ministerial Meeting of the Large Civil Aircraft Working Group, held on December 4, marks an important step in affirming the U.S.-EU agreement reached in June 2021 to address the longstanding Boeing-Airbus dispute. The agreement appropriately suspended harmful tariffs jeopardizing food and beverage products that contribute to the cultural fabric of the United States – including products from Italy, which is not an Airbus consortium country.

The AIFC commends United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai and European Commission Executive Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis for their continued commitment to resolving the Boeing-Airbus dispute and reaffirming the strong ties between the United States and Europe. We look forward to continued engagement from both sides to reach a permanent resolution to the dispute that bolsters our Trans-Atlantic partnership and allows us to work constructively together to confront shared challenges.”
